6 Questions To Ask Yourself To Clarify Your Dreams
6 Questions To Ask Yourself When Pursuing Your Dreams And Clarify Your Vision
What’s your dream? What do you wish to happen in your life? Do you want to give your vision a jumpstart? Use these questions and write down your goals and accelerate the realisation of your dreams.
Questions To Help You formulate Your vision
- What’s your highest priority right now? In Unbox Life Mentoring, we always begin with where you are at right now. If you can get grip on your present, you can change your future.
So, what is most important for you to experience, explore, or embrace at this time? Until you answer this question, your life goals will be off your life purpose. When you are unaligned with your inner passion, your intentions will lack the power to attract the people and situations necessary to become a reality.
Your Guiding Star
Your heart is your true guide. It is what I refer to as Your ‘guiding star’. It springs from your essence, and deepest part of who you truly are – The Real You. Get clued into your true joy. What activities did you enjoy as a child? What are your hobbies now? When your goals are aligned with your soul, synchronicity kicks in to guide you to your target. Many of clients get so busy perusing their careers, that they forget to express their true essence: creativity. We are all creative beings – whatever you chose to create. That is why we are here. Being creative perusing a hobby, is what teaches your brain how to manifest your goals.
I often ask a client “who are you” and they answer by giving their job title. This is when I know how far removed, they are from being creative, or identifying with themselves through their job title only, diminishing their natural ability to create the life they desire. That is how important creative hobbies are!
Practising Your Inherent Right
- Is this your dream, or someone else’s?
Now, consider this: are your goals your own choice, your own dreams; or what others think you should strive for? Following someone else’s dream robs you of your self-will. Self-will is our ability and inherent right to make a choice, to decide for ourselves as mature adults. Following other’s dreams robs you of your self-will and is disempowers you.
- Do you want to look back in your old age and wish you had followed your passion?
- Will you regret having “played it safe?”
- What would you regret not having done?
- Is it selfish to go after your own dream?
- What joy can you give to others if you haven’t given it to yourself first?
- Are you settling for ‘less than’?
Are you resigned to accepting less than your full share of love, health and success this lifetime? Have you compromised and sacrificed your dream? What is the payoff of giving up your dreams? Anything short of living your true passions will never make you happy.
Clarity of Direction
Often, the journey to materialising our dreams seems long and winding. True! However, if you have clarity and a plan, time will be your ally, not your enemy. Unconsciously, we convince ourselves that “I have to give up that dream for the sake of…” because we lack clarity on how to actually make it happen and integrate our dream with our responsibilities; and really because we have no clear direction to follow.
And this is when we need to ask for help, a friend to brainstorm with, or a life a coach, or a life mentor who has walked that journey before and knows how they can help you through their own experience. Expert help can be essential and extremely valuable at pivotal times in our lives. Do you ask for help?
- What will you feel like when you reach your dream?

Unbox ‘Secret’ Tip
Clairvoyance literally means clear vision. Whatever you cannot imagine, or visualise in your mind’s eye, whether your eyes are open or closed; you cannot materialise or manifest. This Is my top tip, or secret. The more you visualise your dream the more likely it is to materialize. Use your outer sense to discern elements that relate to your dream. For instance, if your dream is financial abundance, what does that mean to you? How will you experience it? What does financial freedom feel like? What would your lifestyle be like? Your health? Your love life?
How would you personally express abundance? Feel all these images in your skin, get excited, create a future memory with as much detail as possible. Keep imagining it so that your subconscious mind gets the picture – pun intended. Ninety percent of what we materialise is through the subconscious. When imprint the subconscious mind with emotions and images, it gets working to deliver your dream! So be mindful what you imprint your subconscious mind with.
- What steps can you take today toward your dream?
Don’t put off your dream until the moment is right. If you are thinking about it, the moment is right! Set up supports and systems around you to instantly translate your intentions into action. Write down a list of what you Can do right now to activate your dream. Jump on every opportunity that is in alignment with your purpose and vision. Ask for help if you need to, but do not get stuck sacrificing your passion. That is what you are here to do. To mindfully ‘create’ a life full of joy.
What are the smaller steps that you can take now to lead to your larger dream? If the dream is to run a marathon, train for a local fun-run first. And find a way to measure your progress. Track those little wins-by writing in a journal or telling a friend.
- Are you telling yourself: “I can’t have my dream?”
Most people don’t believe they can live their dream. Their subconscious mind is ‘imprinted’ with this image. Either their limited belief system has them believing that they can’t make a living doing what they love, or that they feel they don’t deserve their dream. To avoid the pain of feeling they can’t have their dream, people often keep their dream so buried they can’t remember they ever had a dream.
Everyone has a dream! It is our impulse to live, and to have an impact. And everyone is destined to fulfil that purpose. Why wait?
